Is USMLE the only option for an Indian MBBS student to continue studies abroad?

My answer on Quora:

Thanks for A2A Bindu.

Countries most Indian MBBS student go to are USA, UK, Germany, Australia.Options to study abroad after MBBS depend on which area you wish to enter.

Most commonly there are 3 areas students enter after MBBS for study outside India.

1.Residency/Super specialty – USMLE is a licensing exam to practice medicine in USA and apply for residency/super specialty.Other countries have their respective equivalent licensing exams like PLAB for UK.

2. MPH/MHA-Other options if you do not wish to continue to practice but be in medical field is giving GRE/TOFEL and become enrolled in a MPH ( master in public health) or MHA ( master in hospital administration). Post MPH you can get into research branch , post MHA you can enter into hospital administration side.

3.MBA- If you wish to enter in a field other than medicine then entering into MBA is another lucrative option.

Hope I have made my answer clear. Let me know if you have any further doubts.
